This year we raised enough money to buy the FYP mini-bus and took 13 volunteers to the remote Kalinovka Orphanage in southern Ukraine. Each volunteer (some of whom had special needs) used their own skills, from martial arts to face painting, to bring joy into the lives of the people they met at Kalinovka and some other orphanages we visited.
As well as playing with the orphans and helping them with simple crafts we took them for as many walks as we could, wheeling those who could not walk on wheelchairs or beds if they could not sit up.
One day we even took some of the children out of the institute in the bus to a nearby river for a BBQ.
